Hacker Bribed Roblox Employee To Access Accounts

A hacker has managed to bribe an employee at Roblox to gain access to millions of user's data. Check your account now and change the password.

A Roblox Account Hacker Gained Access To Millions Of Accounts

The computer game for children called Roblox was recently subjected to a security threat where an employee was bribed by the hacker to give him over a million account details. In this game, you can buy points called "Robux" so you can buy items in-game to improve your experience whilst playing, you have got to buy these "Robux" using real money from your credit card or the credit card of a parent. If these accounts that have been compromised have been linked up to your credit card then the hacker can definitely make a small fortune on your behalf.  

I am not entirely sure why the employee gave the account details out in the first place I imagine that he was subjected to something called ransomware in which the hacker will take your computer files and or personal data and hold them up for a price, in this case, access to the accounts. The reasoning that they hacker has given behind this is that they did it to prove a point, I am not sure what point he was proving but was it worth exposing millions of accounts for.

This hacker was able to steal in-game currency or "Robux" from a player and they have also managed to steal in-game items as well which bring worth to the accounts. Some of the accounts that have been compromised are those that have got the highest value on them and even Youtubers that play this game as well were not safe from his hack. One youtube called linkmon99 was known as one of the richest Roblox players as their account had a lot of worth to it. 

The hacker was able to trick the employee into giving these account details away as compensation for a bug that they had found but really there was no bug at all. Well, this is the story that he has been saying maybe as a cover-up for his mistakes. All customers who have been affected have been notified by Roblox so that they can secure their account.

If you have got a Roblox account or know of anyone who has I ask you to ask them to change there password even if they have not been notified as they should change it just to make sure that there account is as secure as possible. Ideally, you should be changing your password once every few months or few weeks to make sure your account is the most secure but if you have not got any worth to the account then really it does not matter as you have got nothing to lose.
