The lanterns themself are okay when there is just one let off for someone's birthday or some other sort of celebration but they are a huge risk to the environment and cause countless of problems for the already over-crowded emergency services. Not only does it cause a huge risk to the environment and emergency services but imagine what it does for the air traffic, your lantern could prevent an air-ambulance from getting to someone as they could block the skies if everyone is letting them go.
I urge you not to let these lanterns off let's just stick with the clapping to show the support instead of causing endless amounts of problems for the emergency services. You have got to think what happens if this goes wrong and you accidentally set your house or garden on fire and then you have got to call the fire brigade to come and put it out when they could be saving someone trapped from inside a car. You have got to think who are you going to call when you accidentally set yourself on fire using more resources on you that could have been avoided. What happens when you burn yourself when lighting these where are going to go probably to A&E where a lot of other people will be and then you will be wasting NHS time on a burn when they could be saving someone's life that has got coronavirus.
Please, do NOT send these lanterns into the sky lets just stay with the clapping to show our support for the NHS and all of the other frontline workers and as always from me...
