Nintendo Hack Attack Exposes 160,000 Accounts

So the latest big company to come under fire for a hack attack is Nintendo and the hackers have got access to over 160,000 accounts, they sneaked into these accounts just in time for the animal crossing to come out.

Nintendo has made sure that all accounts that have been affected have been forcefully reset so that the user has got to enter a new password and make sure that there account is secure again. They have said that you will be notified by email if your account has been compromised so make sure that you are checking your emails to see if you have received anything from Nintendo.

Login IDs, dates of birth, and passwords have been exposed because of this hack and if you use PayPal or other banking apps then these might have been compromised as well. This is really good timing as hackers would have known about the release of animal crossing which they could use to gain access to the accounts or some other method. Lots of Nintendo's customers would have bought animal crossing as it is a popular game and they will have spent money in the game to progress which means if your account was compromised then the hackers might also have access to the banking services that you use.

A positive thing that has come out of this is that as soon as it happens Nintendo began to work on its security by resetting the account passwords forcefully to remove and unauthorized sign attempts and they have stated that they are working on new types of security to prevent this from happening in the future. This new type of security will not be sharing with the public so that they can ensure that their platform is as secure as possible.

If you are using Nintendo services then make sure that you reset your password even if you have not been notified by Nintendo so that you can make sure that your account is secure as possible. You might want to think about changing the password to your banking service that you use or PayPal so that you can make sure that those accounts are still secure. Thank you for taking the time to read this article and as always make sure you are keeping safe online and offline. As always from me...

Stay Safe IFB :)
