This theory became so popular because it was helped by bot accounts to share the fake news about this 5G being so dangerous, these bot accounts would just help to spread the fake news around until enough people saw it and then thought it was real. I think this might have been to cover up something a lot more serious about the coronavirus that we do not know.
I think that they did this to put fear into people's lives so that they would be scared of this new technology and not want it so that they could develop it further or maybe use it to cover up something more serious that they were doing. If you believe that 5G actually caused coronavirus then please just leave do some research and then come back to me, do not believe all of the stories that you read online. The disinformation surrounding this theory is just unbelievable and the fact that it is fulled by these fake accounts leaves you asking who is behind this theory and where did it come from.
Some research suggests that it came from the Russians like what they did with Trump's campaign back in 2016 or a similar idea. The disinformation is causing mass hysteria which is not good in a time of crisis which we are in now, people are believing that it is 5G that is causing this virus so people are not staying inside which they need to do to beat this virus.
